BENEFITS
Packed with powerful antioxidants and beneficial compounds, Olive Leaf Powder offers a range of health benefits including:
- Antimicrobial effects - naturally fight bacteria, viruses and fungi, keeping your dog protected from various pathogens.
- Immune system support - boost your dog's immune defences, helping them stay healthy and fight off infections;
- Anti-inflammatory properties - reduce inflammation and pain, beneficial for dogs with arthritis or other inflammatory conditions;
- Antioxidant protection - combat oxidative stress and protect your dog's cells from damage, promoting long-term health;
- Heart health - support cardiovascular health by improving blood circulation and reducing cholesterol levels;
Serving Suggestion:
Add to your dog’s wet food daily when antimicrobial support is required.
Recommended dose is 1⁄4 tsp per 10kg body weight - start with a low dose and gradually build up to the recommended amount based on your dog’s weight. It is especially helpful when used as part of a gut or skin health protocol, or during seasonal changes to support immune resilience.
Caution:
Avoid use during pregnancy or in dogs with low blood pressure or diabetes unless under veterinary supervision. Olive leaf may cause a “die-off” or detox reaction, known as herxheimer reaction, and symptoms might include lethargy, loose stools or skin flare-ups. Treating yeast infections with olive leaf extract may require a higher dosage and should be carefully monitored. Always introduce gradually and consult your vet if your dog is on medication or has chronic health issues.
Complementary products to support a yeast treatment protocol include:
- Soil based or canine specific probiotics (we love Adored Beast Fido's Flora!)
- Gut support products that include digestive enzymes, such as Adored Beast Healthy Gut
- MCT oil for its anti-fungal properties
- Liver support herbs such as milk thistle and dandelion root
- Soothing herbs such as calendula and licorice for itchy or inflamed skin
